William Gardner Douglas

November 16, 1926 — August 14, 2017

William Gardner Douglas, 90, of Cambridge, died Monday (August 14, 2017) at Countryview Assisted Living Center, Lore City. He was born November 16, 1926 in Belfont WV, son of the late Leland Douglas and Suzie (Nottingham) Douglas. Mr. Douglas was a former Liberty Township trustee.  He was a lifelong farmer and enjoyed working on tractors.  He also had been a school bus driver for many years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Aaron Douglas; and a sister, Lemoine McKahan. He is survived by his wife, Lenora May (Gray) Douglas, whom he married June 19, 1950; three sons, Randy J. (& Jane) Douglas, John (& Missy) Douglas, and Thomas (& Tammy) Douglas all of Cambridge; two daughters, Patricia (& John) Westover of Kimbolton and Teresa (& Doug) Smith of Freeport; a brother, James (& Shirley) Douglas of Cambridge; twelve grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; and special cousins, John (& Pud) Douglas of Sutton WV and Boyd (& Mary) Hosford of Eaton Rapids MI. Visitation will be held Wednesday (August 16, 2017) from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will be held Thursday (August 17, 2017) at 11 a.m. with Pastor Craig Murray officiating. Burial will be at Kimbolton Cemetery.
