William R. Egnot

William R. Egnot, 83, formerly of Cambridge, died Friday (April 11, 2008) at the Golden Living Center, Kirtland. He was born on October 4, 1924 in Byesville, son of the late William Egnot and Gertrude (Anderson) Egnot. He married Wilma (Dolney) Egnot on November 26, 1949. Mr. Egnot retired in 1987 from Randall Plastics, where he was plant manager for over thirty years. He was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church. Mr. Egnot was a 1942 graduate of Byesville High School. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran, having served during World War II from 1942 to 1946. He was a member of the VFW. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma, who died on March 11, 2000; a brother, John Egnot; and a sister, Wanda Vail. He leaves a son, Richard (& Carrie) Egnot of Chesterland; two brothers, Jerry (& Rosemary) Egnot of Byesville and Jim Egnot of Virginia; a grandson, Rich Egnot; and several nieces & nephews. Family and friends may call on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where a prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday (April 15, 2008) at 10 a.m. at St. Benedict Catholic Church with Father Robert Borer officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Cambridge, with military graveside services conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
