William L. Evans Jr., 70, of Old Washington, died Tuesday (October 30, 2012) at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center, Cambridge. He was born April 7, 1942 in Cambridge, son of the late William L. Evans Sr. and Goldie L. (Anderson) Evans. Mr. Evans was a millwright for Union Local # 1755 of Parkersburg. He was a member of Cambridge Eagles Aerie # 386. He was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns and also of NASCAR. He loved the outdoors and nature. Mr. Evans was a US Army veteran, having served during the Vietnam War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Fahner; and a brother, Larry "Sandy" Evans. He is survived by his wife, Rae (Wells) Evans of the home; a son, Todd Evans of Seattle WA; three daughters, Lisa (& Don) Cousar of Columbus, Heather (& Wally) Bates of Old Washington, and Michelle Evans of Cambridge; a brother, Chris Evans of Cambridge; a sister, Carolyn Lantz of Cambridge; and eight grandchildren, Corey, Trevor, Cameron, Zachary, Bricen, Jordan, Brendan, and Paige. Family and friends may call on Friday (November 2, 2012) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Randy Mercer officiating. Eagles services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Old Washington Cemetery, with military graveside services conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
