William "Bill" F. Watson

William "Bill" F. Watson, 80 of Salesville, passed away Friday (September 29, 2017) at his home.

Bill was born April 28, 1937 just outside of Quaker City, son of the late Fred and Helen (Crawford) Watson.

Mr. Watson was a self-employed timber-man for 41 years. In his lifetime he built six homes, including two of his own. Bill also dabbled in small engine repair, and enjoyed farming. He was a 1955 graduate of Quaker City High School; he liked to watch western movies and read.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son-in-law, Larry Mallett.

Survivors include his wife, Frances (Toohey) Watson, whom he married Aug. 20, 1956; a son, William L. (Nina) Watson of Barnesville; a daughter, Cathy J. Watson Mallett of TN; nine grandchildren, Karla, Michael, Kevin, Dean, Daniel, Kari, Lindsay, Tyler and Dawna, 18 great grandchildren; and his special friend, Buddy.

Calling hours will be Monday (October 2, 2017) from 5-9 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home in Quaker City with services scheduled for Tuesday (October 3, 2017) at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jeff Eschbaugh officiating. Burial will follow at Friends Cemetery, Quaker City.

As an expression of sympathy, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Guernsey, PO Box 1165, Cambridge OH 43725.
