William E. Hensley Sr.

William E. Hensley Sr., 92, of Salesville, passed away Thursday (October 5, 2006) at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus. He was born February 18, 1914 in Walnut Creek NC, son of the late L.B. Hensley and Ada (Roberts) Hensley. Mr. Hensley was a member of Local # 438 Steamfitters Union in Baltimore MD. He was the former owner of W.E. Hensley and Sons Heating and Air Conditioning. Mr. Hensley was Protestant by faith. He was a man who practiced patience and quality in his work. He loved traveling in his motor home with his wife. Mr. Hensley was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Lucille (Davis) Hensley, who passed away July 13, 2003. They were married on January 8, 1943. Also deceased is a daughter, Marjorie L. Williams. He leaves three sons, William E. (& Pam) Hensley of Cartersville GA, Richard A. (& Mary) Hensley of Salesville and John M. (& Judy) Hensley of Silver Spring MD; two daughters, Connie (& Ray) Ferrell of Salesville and Lynda L. (& Michael) Clear of Fallen Timber PA; a brother, John A. (& Helen) Hensley of Marion NC; twenty grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where services will be held on Wednesday (October 11, 2006) at 11 a.m. with Rev. Beth Mansperger officiating. Burial will be at Old Washington Cemetery, Old Washington
