QUAKER CITY -- A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday (December 6, 2006) at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Quaker City, for Leonard McVicker, 86, of Quaker City, who died Thursday (Nov. 30, 2006) at Barnesville Hospital. The Rev. Wayne Hogue will officiate. Burial will be in the Friends Cemetery. Friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, prior to the services. He was born May 3, 1920, in Senecaville, son of the late Dwight and Leelah (Leonard) McVicker. Mr. McVicker was a retired Teamster with Tri-State Asphalt. He was a 1939 graduate of Old Washington High School. He leaves his wife, Dorothy A. (Spence) McVicker; two sons, Thomas S. (Cyndy) McVicker and David L. (Jackie) McVicker, both of Quaker City; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Quaker City United Methodist Church, or Quaker City Volunteer Fire Department.
