William C. Seel, 85, of Cambridge, died Saturday (January 9, 2010) at The Ohio State University Medical Center, Columbus. He was born January 9, 1925 in Chattanooga TN, son of the late William Carl Seel and Anna (Kovalycsik) Seel. He married Anna Ray Heady on February 15, 1947. Mr. Seel was a retired mechanic for The Ohio Bridge Company. He loved woodworking and golfing in the Senior Golf League at Wildfire. Mr. Seel was a US Army veteran, having served during World War II in a field artillery unit. He was a member of the Cambridge VFW Post 2901. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Ray (Heady) Seel, who died March 12, 2007; two brothers, Michael and Ralph Seel; and a sister, Shirley Lasky. He is survived by a son, David Seel of Pataskala; two daughters, Jeannie Vondran of Byesville and Cynthia (& Andrew) Koval of Cambridge; three grandchildren, Kelly (& Eric) Fehrman of Cumberland, Shawn Vondran of Macomb IL and Carly Ann Koval of Cambridge; and five great-grandchildren, Jacob Fehrman, Sarah Fehrman, Noah Fehrman, Logan Koval and Chloe Koval. Family and friends may call on Wednesday (January 13, 2010) from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge. Graveside services will be held on Thursday (January 21, 2010) at 11 a.m. at Guernsey Memory Gardens, with military graveside services conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions in Mr. Seel's name may be made to the Guernsey County Humane Society.
