Willie Arthur Wilkins

Willie Arthur Wilkins, 71, of Salesville, passed away Thursday, August 18, 2022, at his home.

Willie was born on September 1, 1950, in Columbus, Ohio, a son to the late Gilbert and Betty Ann (Smith) Wilkins.

Willie an active member of the USMC from March 24, 1969, to March 31, 1971, when he was honorably discharged. While on duty Willie served in the Vietnam war and earned a variety of medals including the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnamese Campaign Medal w/ device, Combat Action Ribbon, Vietnamese Service Medal w 1*, and a Purple Heart.

Willie was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. He enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren during sporting events.  Willie loved spending time with his family and friends, and never knew a stranger.

Willie is preceded in death by his parents Gilbert and Betty Wilkins, sisters Janice Wilkins, Marilyn Ballard and brother Gilbert Wilkins Jr.

He is survived by his sister Kathleen Landis of Columbus, sons and daughters, Willie (Kim) Wilkins of Columbus, Lisa Wilkins of Harrisburg , Anthony (Brittney) Wilkins of Cambridge, Chelsia Wilkins of Orient, Chris Wilkins of Corning and Alyssa Johnson of La Pine, Oregon. Many grandchild and great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
