Wilma I. Ross

September 6, 1925 — April 20, 2016

Wilma I. Ross, 90, passed away Wednesday (April 20, 2016) at the Beckett House, New Concord, surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 6, 1925 in Muskingum County, daughter of the late John Wolfe and Edna (Hill) Wolfe. She worked at many different places throughout her life including Essex Wire, Westinghouse, and Cambridge Mental Health from where she retired. Wilma had an infectious laugh and loved everyone. She enjoyed making pies and then taking them to her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Chester Oiler; her second husband of thirty-seven years, James Russell Ross; her brothers, Harold Lee Wolfe, Chuck Wolfe, Roy Wolfe, and John Wolfe; her sisters, Dorothy Delforge, Helen Stevens, Edna Slifko, and Violet Gattrell. She is survived by her children, Connie (& Dave) Roberts, Larry (& Gail) Oiler, Shirley Ross, and James (& Chris) Ross; a stepson, Bill Oiler; a brother, Russell Wolfe; a sister, Gladys Harper; her grandchildren, Ronnie Berger, Roger Berger, Angela Oiler, Sara Kirkbride, Jim Ross, Joe Ross, and Nicki McEndree; twelve great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many friends, including the staff at the Beckett House whom Wilma thought of as family. Her family cannot thank the staff of Beckett House enough for the wonderful care she received from them. Visitation will be held Monday (April 25, 2016) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Evang. Mark Beros officiating. Burial will be at Guernsey Memory Gardens, Cambridge.
