Yvonna L. Nicholes

Yvonna L. Nicholes, 78, of Quaker City, died Monday (March 5, 2018) at Barnesville Hospital. She was born October 5, 1939 in Lewisville, daughter of the late Ellis V. Johnson and Jessie O. (Carpenter) Johnson. Yvonna was a former employee of RCA and NCR. She was a member of the Barnesville Eagles Ladies Auxiliary and a social member of the Barnesville VFW Post 2792. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sons, Joey Wayne, Kenny Sean, and Korry Gene Nicholes; and an infant brother, Robert. She is survived by her husband, Willis D. Nicholes of Quaker City; a son, Kerry Nicholes of Brilliant; four daughters, Penny (& Robert) McPeek of Eldon, Peggy (& Roger) Miller of Quaker City, Polly (& John) Doane of Pleasant City, and Pammy (& Chad) Wilson of Las Vegas NV; a brother, Richard Johnson of Quaker City; a sister, Wanda (& Dennis) McBurney of Barnesville; thirteen grandchildren, Devin (& Alexe) Nicholes, Hannah (& Bryan) Howard, Kodie (& Whitney) Nicholes, C.D. Vinson (& Kelsey), Miranda (& Melvin) Miller, Kylene (& Rhodney) Keadle, Tessa (& Darin) Wilson, Samuel McPeek, Shantelle (& Steven) Keadle, Seth (& Krystal) McPeek, Chesney (& Brandon) Keadle, Hugh McPeek, and Laikyn (& Jake) Keadle; seven great-grandchildren, Bella, Hannah, Kyler, Malaya, Sophia, Rhodie, and Kodak; and special relatives, Shirley & Jr Roe, Shelba Wills, and Patsy & DK Carpenter. Visitation will be held Thursday (March 8, 2018) from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Quaker City, with additional visitation held on Friday from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday (March 9, 2018) at 2 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Quaker City, with Pastor Jeff Eschbaugh officiating. Burial will be at Friends Cemetery, Quaker City.
