Zella Evelyn Wilson, 98, formerly of Lore City and Cambridge, died Tuesday (August 6, 2013) at the Countryview Assisted Living Center, Lore City. She was born December 8, 1914 in Lore City, daughter of the late Phineas Mercer and Mary F. (Lyons) Mercer. Mrs. Wilson retired from the former Cambridge Savings Bank, where she had been assistant vice-president. She was Protestant by faith and attended the Four-Mile Hill Church of Christ in Christian Union. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Wilson, who died August 30, 1966. They were married May 7, 1933. Also deceased are two brothers, two sisters, and an infant son. She is survived by a niece, Patricia Ankrom of Tampa FL; a god-daughter, Rhonda (& Lacy) Boney of Lore City; and her god-grandchildren, Christina and Amber Boney. Graveside services and burial were held Friday (August 9, 2013) for the family at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge. As an expression of sympathy, the family asks that memorial contributions be made in Zella's name to the Guernsey County Humane Society, 108A Franklin Avenue, Cambridge OH 43725.
