Anita Helen (Armbruster) Cox, 74, formerly of Cambridge, passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2022, in Galloway.
Anita was born on January 9, 1948, in Cambridge, Ohio, a daughter to the late Clarence and Hattie (Graham) Armbruster.
She was a 1965 graduate of Guernsey Catholic Central. Anita was formerly employed at the Cambridge Savings Bank where she was a Branch Manager. She developed many talents as she also worked at The Jeffersonian, J.C. Penny’s, Dr. Vora’s office, and Guernsey Memorial. Anita attended Christ Our Light.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Cox, whom she married on August 10, 1968, and passed away on February 9, 2012, her brothers, John, Clarence, Charles, William, James, and Paul Armbruster, her sister, Barbara Lewis, and her father and mother-in-law, Robert (Marguerite) Cox.
Left to cherish Anita’s memory are her son, Michael Cox of Cambridge, her daughter, Jennifer Cox of Galloway, her sister, Martha (Martin) Mekkelsen of Apex, North Carolina, her granddaughter, Kristen (Aaron) Foshee of Galloway, her great grandson, Brayden Foshee, several nieces and nephews, and her beloved Sir the Cat.
In addition to spending time with Sir, she was an avid coffee drinker and loved to crochet. She was a world traveler and also enjoyed day trips to Amish Country with family. She volunteered at Southeastern Med for as long as the family can remember. As busy as she was, she always made sure to set aside time to spend with her friends.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, August 10, 2022, from 4-7 PM at Thorn Black Funeral Home in Cambridge. Services will be held Thursday, August 11, 2022, at 11 AM, at Christ our Light in Cambridge, with Father Paul Hrezo officiating. Interment will be held at Northwood Cemetery.
