Barbara Jean (Rogers) Wharton

Barbara Jean (Rogers) Wharton, 89, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at her home in Cambridge.

She was born September 13, 1933, in Cuyahoga Falls, a daughter to the late French Rogers and Virginia (Stahl) Rogers.

Barbara was an employee at the State Hospital for 38 years. She enjoyed spending time with grandkids, was a huge Ohio State Buckeyes football fan and loved to cook. Barbara was Christian by Faith.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Louis Wharton, whom she married on January 11, 1953, and passed away on October 4, 2004, a brother, Junior Rogers, and two sisters, Marilou Dudley and Eula Mae Moore.

Barbara is survived by two sons, Louis (Butch) and Sarah Wharton of Byesville, and John (Judy) Wharton of Byesville, two daughters, Valerie (Randy) Knight of Cambridge, and Heather (Donnie) Wickham of Baltimore, MD, one sister, Peggy (Sug) Wheatley of Cambridge, along with seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held Monday, October 31, 2022, from 11 AM- 1 PM, with the service to immediately follow at Thorn Black Funeral Home in Cambridge with Larry Buckey officiating. Burial will be held at Guernsey Memory Gardens.
