Betty June Dodd

Betty June Dodd, 96, of Cambridge, passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at Altercare of Cambridge.

She was born June 10, 1927, in Crooksville, daughter of the late Harold Printz and Mildred (Adams) Printz.

A 1945 graduate of McLuney High School, Mrs. Dodd served as the Guernsey County Recorder for eighteen years, retiring in 1995. Betty enjoyed spending time with her family, the Smokey Mountains, and taking vacations. She had many hobbies including gardening, playing dominos, collecting Santas and roosters, and shopping for antiques and crafts. She was a devout member of the Christ Global Methodist Church and the Guernsey County Democrat Club.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald LaVerne Dodd, who died November 13, 2005, her brothers, Robert Printz and Charles William Printz, and her sister, Barbara Winkler.

She is survived by three sons, Ronald (Janice) Dodd of Cambridge, James (Bella) Dodd of Cambridge, and Gary (Romona) Dodd of Galena, ten grandchildren, Shelly Hamilton, Jen Fox, Matt Dodd, Missy Bayly, Becky Parry, Teresa Bowman, Courtney Shoffner, Gabbi Dodd, Luke Dodd, and Samuel Dodd, and several great and great-great grandchildren.   

Calling hours will be held on Monday, November 20, 2023, from 11AM-1PM with the service to immediately follow at Thorn Black Funeral Home in Cambridge with Pastor Missy Bayly officiating. Burial will take place following the service at Northwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Christ Global Methodist Church, Hospice of Guernsey County, or Feed My People of Guernsey County Inc.
