Craig Oplinger Obituary

Craig M. Oplinger, 52, of Quaker City, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Craig was born on March 4, 1970, in Cambridge, a son to the late John and Mary (Moore) Oplinger. He met his wife, Renee Oplinger, in 1994. Since then, they created a beautiful family with their three children and five grandchildren.

Craig was a member of N.E. Chapter of Heaven’s Saints Motorcycle Ministry and a supporter of Hands of Hope Outreach Ministry (Millersburg, OH). Craig attended Tuesday nights bible study led by President Bob Fry (HSMM). He especially appreciated all the texts, calls, and prayers from his brothers and sisters in Christ and family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Yvonne Richards, Debra Kauffman, and Jody Rodriguez and his friend, Katrina Bichard.

Craig is survived by his wife, Renee (Barnes) Oplinger, his children; Kilee (Aaron) Downing, Keith (Christen) Kisner, and Lee Oplinger; his grandchildren, Millyona and Zeek Downing; Karter Cason and Mila Kisner; his siblings, Denise (Michael) Jendrisak, Bud (Sonia) Miller, John (Sheila Laughlin) Oplinger, and Tim (Jody) Vance.

The family would like to extend their love and gratitude to Craig’s extended Christian families who helped bring him to the Lord and encourage him daily through his walk. A special thanks from the family to Pastor Hoss Sinclair of Faith Tabernacle Church (Buckhannen, WV) (BBB); Pastor Tony York of Victory Bible Church (Mooresville, IN) (BBB) and all of his other Brothers by Blood Motorcycle Ministry Members; Scott Stein, his brother in Christ, Pastor Jonathan Cates and Butch Cates of Bible Believers Church (Byhalia, MS), and Pastor Sonny (Carol) Tolbert (Memphis, TN).

Calling hours will be held Saturday, February 4, 2023, from 11AM-1PM at Thorn Black Funeral Home in Quaker City with the service to immediately follow. Pastor Hoss Sinclair will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any monetary donations be made to the GoFund Me, Thorn Black Funeral Home PO Box 235 Quaker City, or to his wife, Renee Oplinger.
