Daniel R. Hoop, 76, of Freeport, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 25, 2023, in Cambridge.
He was born in Londonderry Township, on April 23, 1947, son of the late Earl Hoop and Pansy (Watkins) Hoop.
Mr. Hoop was a retired heavy equipment operator, and worked as a coal miner, and was also a former employee of Ohio Bell.
He was Christian by faith, and a member of Bible Baptist Church in Byesville.
Daniel was a 1965 graduate of Madison High School. Daniel loved to watch and protect his birds. He loved His Lord and was all about his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Ryan Dean Hoop, two brothers, William and Eugene Hoop, and a sister, Arleen Roby.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Sandra Ann (Case) Hoop, whom he married on January 26, 1966, three sons; Brian Hoop of Cambridge, and Jeffrey and Jeremy Hoop, both of Londonderry, three daughters; Sheila Gump of Canton, Traci (& Mark) Hildebrand of Antrim, and Melissa Meek of Londonderry; a brother, Earl (& Sandy) Hoop of Akron, and a sister, Erleen Long of Barnesville; a very special sister-in-law, Vicki Hoop of Barnesville, and many, many, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and good friends.
A memorial service for Daniel will be held Saturday, June 10, 2023, beginning at 2 pm, at the family farm, located at 21799 Hoop Lane, Freeport, OH, 43973.
