Obituary

Donna Joan Lowry Liptak, 93, died early Saturday, April 8, 2023, surrounded by her family. She was born on April 17, 1929, in Alliance, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Herbert William Lowry and Rebecca Faye Ogle Lowry Beadle.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Andrew Liptak, Sr., whom she married June 25, 1947; three brothers: Fred, Hubert, Herbert Lowry and one half-brother, Wilbur Beadle; four sisters: Eleanor Sigman, Phyllis LaDouceur, Delores (Beck) Wilson and Dorothy Goff.

Joe and Donna raised their children on the family dairy farm, near Old Washington. Both were members of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Lore City, Ohio. They worked hard and for several years put in a huge garden, that Donna would preserve for the Winter. Donna would start canning tomatoes, for example, before the children would go to school and not finish until late evening. She always had delicious, home cooked meals prepared for her family and coffee to share with whoever came around. She loved having fun with her family, hosting Saturday night Poker parties, playing Euchre with her sisters and friends, vacationing in Florida, playing music and dancing. Family and friends enjoyed times at the farm, where Joe and Donna made everyone feel welcomed and loved. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by one son: Joseph Liptak, Jr.; five daughters: Linda (Dennis) Lashley; Rebecca Criswell, Pauline Liptak, Greta (Kevin) Powell and Amy McClelland. Eight grandchildren: Misty (Steve) Warden, Sarah (Keith) Conrad, Chris (Nalin) Lashley, Jessica Lashley, Kristen (Randy) Porter, Katie Powell, Emma Criswell, Brady McClelland; Eight great grandchildren: Amanda Wolfe, Drake Kanyuch, Cole and Drew Porter, Allison, Madilyn, William, Josephine Lashley; One Sister: Beulah (Bunny) Watson, one half-brother Lonnie (Butch) Lowry and one half-sister Sandy Slayman.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff of Embassy of Cambridge and Interim Hospice of Coshocton, for the care they gave Donna and the kindness they extended towards the family.

No Calling Hours will be observed, per Donna's request. Graveside Services will be held at Friend's Cemetery, Quaker City, Ohio, on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at 11:00AM with Ev. Mark Beros officiating.
