Helen “Joan” (Brownfield) Hayes, 78, of Lore City, passed away Thursday, June 2, 2022, at her residence in Lore City, Ohio.
She was born September 10, 1943, in Cambridge, Ohio a daughter of the late Jerome and Martha (Shivers) Brownfield.
Helen was the owner of Looking Good Beauty Salon where she was a hairdresser. She was a Home Health Aide. Helen was Christian by Faith. She enjoyed mowing grass, fishing, taking care of her yard and flowers, and was quite the outdoorswoman. Most of all, she loved being a grandmother.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth “Kenny” Hayes, whom she married on May 20, 1966, and passed away on July 23, 2019. Also preceding her in death is her brother, Donnie, and two sisters, Arlene and Sylva.
She is survived by her two sons, Brian Hayes of Reynoldsburg, and Scott (Pam) Hayes of Lore City, her two sisters; Jean Lowry of Old Washington, and Patty Payton of Cambridge, and her grandson; Brady Hayes. Also left to cherish her memory are many nieces and nephews, and her good friend, Peggy Hayden.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the care provided from Hospice of Guernsey and the Cambridge Cancer Center. There will be no services at this time.
