Jeanne E. Troutman, 92 of Cherry Hill, NJ and formerly of Cambridge, OH passed away Friday (June 9, 2017) at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center, Camden, NJ.
She was born September 7, 1924 at the home of her grandparents in Sandy Creek, NY, the oldest daughter of Howard J. King, Sr. and his wife Delia (Hayes) King. On June 18, 1971 she married Derl A. Troutman.
Mrs. Troutman was a graduate of Lyon Mountain High School, in Dannemora Township, NY, and of the Mercy School of Nursing in Watertown, NY. She served as a Nurse Cadet during World War II.
Mrs. Troutman was the owner Red Carpet Health Care Center in Cambridge, Ohio and the Barnesville Health Care Center in Barnesville, Ohio. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Cambridge, the Women's Fellowship Group CRHP and Marriage Encounter.
She was dedicated to her career in nursing, working in various areas of nursing care from Obstetrics to Geriatrics. Her success in nursing and in business was based on her respect for her patients and her fellow workers. Everyone who knew Jeanne remembers her warm, loving and generous spirit in both her words and deeds.
Jeanne was devoted to her family, she enjoyed boating and entertaining at Seneca Lake, travel and keeping in touch with the many and far flung friends she made over the years. She was beautiful, engaged and engaging and she could fill a room with laughter and joy. She never lost interest in life whether it was the news of the day on the national scene or in the day-to-day activities of her friends. She enjoyed animals, especially her dog Togo, and supported animal and other charities.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Derl Troutman; one son, Stephen Atkin; one step-daughter Mary Anne Troutman; two sisters, Pat Rockwell and Joyce LaVigne; and one brother, Howard King, Jr.
She is survived by three daughters, Cheryl King of Eastampton, NewJersey, Joyce Nutaitis of Burlington, New Jersey, Laurie Gray of Cleveland, Ohio, and three sons and daughters–in-law, John and MaryAnn Helmerci of Chicago, IL, Peter and Martha Troutman of Yarmouth Port, MA, David and Pamela Troutman of West Barnstaple, MA; one sister, Theresa Senecal of Plattsburgh, NY; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and multiple nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Friday (June 16, 2017) from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge.
Funeral services will follow Friday (June 16, 2017) at 1 p.m. at the First Christian Church of Cambridge, 1127 Beatty Avenue, with Rev. Deb Bolen officiating.
Burial will be at Guernsey Memory Gardens, Cambridge.
