Judith (oh how she hated this name but she preferred to be called Judy or Jude) Ann Hazelton, 79, passed away Wednesday (April 24, 2019) with her family by her side.
She was born January 29, 1940 in Sciotoville, daughter of the Rosemary Davis-Thomas-Dietrich.
Judy will be missed greatly and survived by her brother, Glenn Thomas; her children, David Lataster, Cassandra (Cassie) Hazelton, Trudy Lataster (daughter from another mother- Mark's wife), and her beloved cat, Mr. Lucy. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Crystal, Ava, Joey, Gavin, and Isabella; and her great-grandchildren, Aaron, Jaiden, Rheanna, Nolan, and Corbin.
She was preceded in death by her eldest son, Mark Lataster; eldest grandson, Anthony Lataster; and her precious kitty, Ruben.
Judy leaves behind a very dysfunctional family that she was very proud of (I mean she never wore a mask out in public). Judy was known for her lack of patience, quick temper, suck it up buttercup temperament and her keen ability to hurt feelings for being able to tell it like it is. She loved to play cards but would get salty when she realized she taught me how to play too well. Loved to criticize me on my extensive use of four letter curse words but always gave me proper credit for the creative ones I could come up with along the way. She was supportive like that.
She was genuine and honest. She had a hidden sense of humor and could take a joke. I should know because she was the butt of my jokes many times. She was my mama. I love her and I will miss her terribly.
No calling hours or funeral services will be held at this time. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
