Lan Smith, 82, of Cambridge died Thursday (Dec. 28, 2017).
He was born Feb. 11, 1935, in Waverly, Tenn., son of the late Oscar Earl Smith Sr. and Rosa Mae (Harrison) Smith.
Lan worked as a truck driver for General Tire and Rubber of Akron and retired from Gehm Ice Company of Akron.
Lan enjoyed working on John Deer Tractors. He loved his dog Emmy. He never met a stranger and always had a smile.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Donna R. (Scott) Smith; 13 brothers and sisters and a grandson.
He is survived by three sons, Ron "Butch" Smith, Mike (Paula) Smith and Randy (Debbie) Smith; a stepson, Marvin Adams; two daughters, Debbie (Dale) Charleston and Kim (Rusty) Larrick; a brother, Darce Smith; three sisters, Oneida Frame, Ruby Gibson and Betty Worley; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held Wednesday at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, from 2 p.m. until time of service at 4 p.m. with Pastor Kirk Gable officiating
