Larry Keith Carpenter

Larry Keith Carpenter, 72, of Cumberland, passed away on Thursday, September 4th, 2025, at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville.

He was born December 2nd, 1952, in Cambridge, a son of the late Rodney and Vivian (McElroy) Carpenter

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step- mother, Erma Carpenter.

Larry was self-employed, repairing and leasing oil field equipment. He worked in instrumentation for Geolograph, and later owned GEO Services.

He loved attending his grandchildren's sporting events and simply spending time with them. Larry loved classic cars and attending car shows, swap meets, antiquing, and enjoyed a morning breakfast date with his wife.

He is survived by his wife Donna (O'Bryan) Carpenter, of the home, whom he married on April 26th, 1987; two sons, Dennis (& Kylie) Carpenter of Nashport and Bryan (& Brittany) Carpenter of Cumberland; a step- son, Steve Holt of Cambridge, and a step- daughter, Sandi (& Jason) Walker of Cambridge.

Also left to cherish his memory, are a sister, Rita Grizzard of Coshocton, thirteen grandchildren, Bailey, Sawyer, Luke, Colton, Weston, Taelor, Connor, Jadyn, Brantleigh, Tyler, Madison, Abby, and Nathan, and five great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Waylon, Wryker, Will and Dallan; a niece and nephew, and his lifelong friend, John Earle.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 9th, from 11 am to 1 pm, at Thorn-Black Funeral Home in Cambridge. The funeral service will take place at 1 pm with Pastor Kris Bright officiating.

Burial will immediately follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Byesville.
