Lisa Marie Hopkins, 57, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 23 rd , 2023, at her childhood home surrounded by her family and friends.
Lisa was born on September 15 th , 1965 in Cambridge, Ohio. A daughter to Robert R. and the late Eleanor L. (Slifko) Hopkins, who passed away on November 30 th , 2022.
In addition to her Mother, she was preceded in death by her life partner, Jimmy Lee Harper, who passed away on February 15 th , 2021.
Lisa was a 1983 Graduate of Cambridge High School. She worked as an office manager at Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union #495. She was a member of First Christian church in Cambridge.
Lisa enjoyed dancing and listening to music, playing euchre and laughing with her “Golden Girls”, and road trips to Cedar Point with her beloved nephews. She also couldn’t begin or end the day without a glass of chocolate milk!
She is survived by her loving Father, Robert Ross Hopkins of Cambridge. Her devoted Sister, Lori Ann (Tracy) Ziech of Newark. Her three cherished nephews, Nicholas Robert Dennis, Daniel Andrew Howard, and Michael Joseph Richard Ziech of Newark. As well as several Aunts, Uncles and Cousins both near and far. Her daughter, Cheyenne (Zack) Wilson of Zanesville. Her grandchildren, Leila Harper, Thomas Keller, Brantley and Madalynn Wilson. Also, her dearest and life long friends, Mary Fran Failla, Laverne McElroy, and Teresa Addy.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Guernsey County, especially Elizabeth and Alinza who went above and beyond the normal call of duty during our time together. They would also like to thank The Embassy of Cambridge and special care team members Mary, Ashley, Stephanie, Shelby, Shawna, and Karla for their loving dedication and support.
The visitation will take place on Tuesday, February 28 th from 11am until 1pm at Thorn-Black Funeral Home located at 139 S 9 th Street, Cambridge. Reverend Sir Randolph White will officiate the funeral service following the visitation, starting at 1pm. Burial will take place at Northwood Cemetery immediately following the service.
