Marie J. Rome

Marie J. (Polankova) Rome, 95, of Cambridge, died Friday (February 15, 2019) at Country View Assisted Living, Lore City.

She was born on April 19, 1923 in Czechoslovakia, daughter of the late Rodina and Blahova Polankova.

Marie was a lifelong homemaker, who loved to mow the grass and take care of the cattle. She loved to crochet and made baby blankets for her family.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Frank Rome, who passed away on September 10, 1985; a granddaughter, Susan Rome; a great-granddaughter, Annastyn Stamm; and a daughter-in-law, Joyce (Minarchek) Rome.

Marie is survived by two sons, Frank (& Robin) Rome and Bill Rome of Cambridge; a daughter, Cookie (& Tom) Tedrick of Cambridge; six grandchildren, Frankie (& Joyce) Rome of Cambridge, John (& Christy) Rome of Cambridge, Annie (& Greg) Stamm of Cambridge, Billy (& Heather) Rome of Cambridge, Adam (& Paige) Tedrick of Tampa FL, and Ben (& Meghan) Tedrick of Sagamore Hills; sixteen great-grandchildren, Nick, Kaylie, Carson, Cale, Julio, Franko, Josey, RJ, Ben, Mya, Joey, Emme, Emma, Will, Gavin and Samuel; two great-great-grandchildren, Baylee and Eliott; three step great-grandchildren, Jordan, Jared, and Jessica; and a former daughter-in-law, Marian Rome of Cambridge.

Visitation will be held Wednesday (February 20, 2019) at Christ Our Light Parish/St Benedict Church in Cambridge, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 12 pm at the church on Wednesday (February 20, 2019) with Father Robert Borer officiating.

Burial will follow at Guernsey County Memory Gardens, Cambridge.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made in Marie's name to: Hospice of Guernsey, PO Box 1165, Cambridge OH 43725 or Country View Assisted Living, 62825 County Home Rd, Lore City OH 43755.
