Marion Jesse Hickman, 86, of Cambridge, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 9, 2023.
He was born May 6, 1937, in Dexter City, son of the late Jesse Hickman and Edna F. (Roberts) Hickman.
Mr. Hickman worked as a shipping & receiving clerk at Phillips Products for many years. He was a loving son, husband, father, brother, and grandfather, and was known to be a quiet man and a deep thinker. He was able to fix or build anything. Later in his life, he became an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Marion loved classic country music, being outside, fishing and gardening, videotaping memories, and spending time with his family.
Mr. Hickman loved his Christian family at Stop Nine Church of Christ where he was a member for many years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Frances Hickman, a son, Jerry Hickman, a son- in- law, Mark Kirkbride, four brothers, Theodore Hickman, Kenny Hickman, Kevin Hickman, and John Hickman Sr.; and a sister, Florence Wyckoff.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Sue (Stephen) Hickman, whom he married July 20, 1969; a son, Lee (& Laurie) Ritterbeck of Cleveland; six daughters, Robin (& Steven) Perry of Las Vegas NV, Holly (& Scott) Stoney of Byesville, Tammy Hickman of Cambridge, Teresa (& Brent) Addy of Cambridge, April J. Hickman of Cambridge, and Debra (Rick) Kirkbride of Cambridge; a sister, Judy Coulson of Cambridge; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, May 15, 2023, from 11AM-1PM at Thorn Black Funeral Home in Cambridge, with the service to immediately follow. Evan. Woody Biggs and Evan. Mark Beros will be officiating. Burial will be at Guernsey Memory Gardens, Cambridge.
