Ronald L. High of Cambridge, passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at the age of 86, at the Astoria Place of Cambridge.
He was born October 5, 1936, in Guernsey County, son of the late Luke High and Clarissa (Stewart) High.
A 1954 graduate of Byesville High School, Mr. High worked for thirty-five years at Muskingum College in the maintenance department. Ronald enjoyed riding his scooter, blowing his train horn, and spending time with his grandkids.
He was a member of the Guernsey County Senior Citizens Center.
Mr. High was a member of the Fairdale Church of God of Prophecy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his second wife, Jacqueline; two sisters, Juanita Sayre and Zora Conroy; and two brothers, Elmer High and Rev. Bill High.
He is survived by his wife, Helloise Jean; a son, Terry (Regina) High of Cambridge; two daughters, Rhonda Firnhaber of Omaha, Nebraska, and Diane M. (Jim) Johnson of Cambridge; a brother, Dr. Curtis (Carolyn) High of Dayton; one sister, Gloria Grace of Marion; six grandchildren, Jeffrey and Emily Firnhaber, Richard (Elizabeth) High, Terry (Stephanie) High Jr., Tom (Jessica) Johnson, and Matt (Samantha) Johnson; eight great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Caleb, Anna, Elizabeth, Emily, Annabelle, Danielle, and Evelina; and three great-great grandchildren, Nevaeh, Kire, and Zayden; and many nieces, nephews, and great friends.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, from 11AM-1PM with a service to immediately follow at Thorn Black Funeral Home in Cambridge. Pastor Dale Martin will be officiating.
Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge.
