**SERVICE UPDATE: Graveside committal services for Ruby Simpson will be held Friday (April 10, 2020) at 1 p.m. at Guernsey Memory Gardens, Cambridge, with Pastor Randolph White officiating.

Ruby Simpson, 85, of Empire and formerly of Cambridge, died Wednesday (August 1, 2018) at her home.

She was born May 15, 1933 in Cambridge, daughter of the late Arthur and Ordee Dansby.

Mrs. Simpson had worked as a tester for the former RCA for many years.

She was a member of the Free Methodist Church and the Pillars Group.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul R. "Sweetwater" Simpson, who died December 30, 2010. They were married December 25, 1952. Also deceased are her sisters, Mary, Lucille, EmmaLou, and Pearly.

She is survived by two sons, Paul (& Teresa) Simpson of Columbus and Tim (& Carol) Simpson of Empire; four grandchildren, Latoya, Lindsay, Derek, and Kyle Simpson; a step-granddaughter, Michelle (& Vic) Hren of New Philadelphia; a great-grandchild, Tyrese Simpson; and two step-great-grandchildren, Kelly and Kimberly Parson.

No calling hours will be observed.

No services will be held at this time. Burial will be at a later date.
