Shirley Ann (Stevens) Whitis

Shirley Ann (Stevens) Whitis, 85, of Cambridge, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2023, at SEORMC.

Shirley was born on September 19, 1937, in Byesville, a daughter to the late Harry and Mary (Fitzgerald) Stevens.

She was a 1955 graduate of Byesville High School and worked as a press operator at LDM Technologies. Shirley enjoyed her bowling league, yard sales, shopping at Goodwill, Old Country music, front porch sitting, and spending time with her family. She was Christian by Faith.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothy, Leona “Sissy”, and Nova, as well as three brothers, Bobby, Danny, and Chuck, and her brother-in-law, Butch McManaway.  

Shirley is survived by her loving husband, Dale Whitis, whom she married on August 28, 1970, two sons, Bobby (Ginger) Collins of Columbus, and Dean (Tina) Collins of Amanda, three daughters, Brenda Lambert of Zanesville, Becky Collins of Sierra Vista, AZ, and Shannon (Dr. Doug) Black of Cambridge, and her sister, Evelyn McManaway of Cambridge. Also left to cherish her memory are six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, several best friends, and her cat, Lilly.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2023, from 11AM-1PM with a service to immediately follow at Thorn Black Funeral Home with Evan. Mark Beros officiating. Burial will be held at Northwood Cemetery.
