Tairiek “Tai” Labish, 23, of Willoughby, formerly of Cambridge, passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2023.
Tairiek was born on June 15, 2000, in Cambridge.
Tai honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He enjoyed Civil War reenactment, metal fabrication, and working on vintage vehicles. He was a former member of Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Zanesville and the Guernsey County Round Table. Tai worked as a mechanic at Platinum Automotive in Euclid, Ohio.
He is preceded in death by grandparents, including a special grandfather, Gene Bay.
Tai is survived by his parents, Chris and Cheryl (Bay) Labish of Cambridge, four sisters, Catherine (Mike) Broadbent of Fort Collins, Colorado, Celena (Tim) Coolman of New Philadelphia, Claire Labish of Cambridge, and Jaeleigh Labish of San Diego, California. Also left to cherish his memory are his nieces and nephews, Olivia, Clayton, Zachary, Abigail, and Damon Coolman, and Summer Labish, as well as his mother, Jessica Tabler and his siblings, Javaughn, Javarius, Robynae, Myles, Karai and Nicholys.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023, at 1 PM, at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Cambridge with Father Nicholas Ginnetti officiating. A burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the Guernsey County Veterans Council. In lieu of flowers, please send a memorial donation in Tairiek’s name to the Guernsey County Veterans Council, Christ our Light Parish, or Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Zanesville.
