Tony Jowett, 65, of Cambridge, passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2024, after a brief illness, at the Morrison House in Zanesville.
Tony was born on April 8, 1958, in Bradford, West Yorkshire, England, a son to Marjorie (Hodgeson) Jowett and the late Frank Jowett.
Tony was an employee of Marietta Coal Company for 31 years as a Lab Technician, retiring in 2013. He served in the British Military for six years. Tony enjoyed hiking, woodworking, his dogs, working outdoors and around his home, and most of all, helping others. He had a great sense of humor; he was clever with a quick wit, and was a great man of faith, putting the needs of others ahead of himself. He was a member of Called to Freedom Fellowship Church.
In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his in-laws, George and Katherine Nicolozakes.
Tony is survived by his wife of 42 years, Ester (Nicolozakes) Jowett, whom he married on August 8, 1981, at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Cambridge, his mother, Marjorie Jowett of Yorkshire, England, his sister, Angela Jowett, of London, England, sisters-in-law, Diane Hebert, Marika Pahoundis, and KiKi DeLancey, two brothers-in-law, John Nicolozakes and Russ Nicolozakes, his nieces and nephews, Edward McCoul, David McCoul, Emma McVicker, Sam Nicolozakes, George DeLancey, God daughter, KiKi Beardmore, George Pahoundis, Katina Pahoundis, Mary Pahoudis, and Alisia Nicolozakes, and numerous cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 12, 2024, at Called to Freedom Fellowship Church, 710 N. 4th Street in Cambridge, from 11AM-1PM with a service to immediately follow with Pastor Bob Hollins officiating.
Memorial donations can be made to Freedom House Homeless Shelter in Cambridge.
