Virginia Ann Dailey, 84, of Cambridge, formerly of Johnstown, passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at the Embassy of Cambridge.
She was born May 22, 1939, in Zanesville, daughter of the late Ernest Godby and Lulu Ann (Richardson) Godby.
Ms. Dailey had worked as a therapeutic program worker at the former Cambridge Psychiatric Hospital for twenty-five years, retiring in 1986.
She was a graduate of Jefferson High School of Dresden.
Ms. Dailey was a member of the Faith Fellowship of Johnstown. Virginia enjoyed camping, spending time with her family, especially her grandkids, reading, doing crossword puzzles, gardening, taking walks, dining out and loved Lifetime TV.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Godby; three sisters, Joyce Braido, Annabelle Crabtree, and Phyllis Peck; and a grandson, Jeremy Williams.
She is survived by two daughters, Pam (& Robert) Williams Sr. of Johnstown and Terry (& Douglas) Wilson of Cambridge; three brothers, William Godby of New Concord, Elmer Godby of New Concord, and John Godby of Zanesville; one sister, Cathrine Seeley of Texas; a granddaughter, Stephanie Valentine; three grandsons, Devin Nicholes, Kodie Nicholes, Bobby Williams, and seven great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Valentine, Brittney Valentine, Taylor Valentine, Bella Bertubin, Beau Nicholes, Boone Nicholes, and Riley Nicholes.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, September 18, 2023, from 11AM to 1PM at Thorn Black Funeral Home in Cambridge, with a service to immediately follow with Evan. Woody Biggs officiating.
Burial will be at East Union Presbyterian Cemetery.
