Walter Edward Zipperich, 86, passed away on Monday, November 6, 2023, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
Walter was born on August 22, 1937, in Lore City, a son to the late Walter and Kathryn (Scurlock) Zipperich.
Walter enjoyed golfing, fishing, softball, and bowling. He was a 1955 graduate of Lore City High School. Walter was a United States Army Veteran. He was a member of Lore City United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Zipperich, who passed away on June 4, 2023, his sister, Sandra Brownfield, his great grandson, Carson Braden, and his son-in-law, Ben Hossman.
Walter is survived by three daughters, Patricia Taylor of Cambridge, Beth (Joe) Braden of Pickerington, and Shauna Hossman of Ohio, four grandchildren, Greg Braden, Justin (Megan) Braden, Alexis High, and Madison Hossman, two great grandchildren, Eli Braden and Carly Braden, his aunt Norma Adams, and his special friends, Ron and Melissa Heardman, Bill and Barb Chorey, Gary and Judy Dinges, Paul and Cindy Hixon, Frank and Carol Touvell, and Walt and Shirley Blattner.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2023, from 11AM-1PM with the service immediately following at Thorn Black Funeral Home in Cambridge with Pastor Clayton Coffey officiating. A burial will follow at Bloomfield Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
