William Lee “Bill” Stone, 84, of Cambridge, passed away Tuesday, August 2nd, 2022.
He was born August 18, 1937, son of the late Scott and Lucille (Moorehead) Stone.
Bill’s last place of employment was at K-Mart, here in Cambridge, but he was a man who worked in a variety of jobs throughout his life. He worked for Atlas Chemical and was a coal miner and an excellent carpenter.
Bill was a 1955 graduate of Lore City High School.
He enjoyed watching football, was a former coach, and above all loved watching the Ohio State Buckeyes. He also loved golfing with “the boys”, riding motorcycles, feeding, and watching his birds, squirrels, and chipmunks, and hanging out with his beloved dog “Pepe”.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Marie Dollison.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Wilda Irene (Montgomery) Stone, whom he married on January 7, 1961; a daughter, Sheryl (& Tim) Osborn of Frazeysburg, three sons, Scott (& Kathy) Stone of Cambridge, Brian (& Debbie) Stone of Lore City, and Todd (& Kim) Stone of Massillon; ten grandchildren; Amanda (& Chris) Rhodes, Angela Lupton, Leanne Lupton, Dylan (& Melanie) Osborn, Taylor (& Tyler) Harble, Ryan Mourer, Leighanna (& Josh) Bradley, Eli Stone, Taryn (& Chase) Waggle, Tressa (& Luke) Hastings, twelve great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and of course, his beloved dog “Pepe”.
A memorial visitation and service will be held at a later date.
