Ila Adams Obituary

Ila Mae (Thompson) Adams, 81, of Cambridge, died Thursday, February 25, 2021, at the Cambridge Health Care and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born April 19, 1939, daughter of the late Roy and Alice (Bennett) Thompson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Jay Martin Adams; two brothers, James Thompson and Delbert "Frog" Thompson and a sister, Doris Richardson.

Ila Mae was retired from Champion Spark Plug where she had worked as an inspector.

She was a 1957 graduate of Byesville High School.

She enjoyed crocheting, line dancing, puzzles, feeding her birds, gardening and spending time with family and loved ones. 

Ms. Adams is survived by a brother, George (& Autumn) Thompson of Byesville; a godson, Derek (& Amy) Gibson of Lore City; a goddaughter, Kara Brown of Kent; a very special daughter-in-law. Leisa Hyde of Byesville; those whom she considered to be her grandchildren, Kinsley Brown and Sophia and Kalon Gibson; several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, and special friends and their families.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 3, from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm at Thorn-Black Funeral Home in Cambridge.  Graveside services will follow at 1:00 pm at Greenwood Cemetery in Byesville, with Pastor Wib Bragg officiating.
