Paul L. Carter, 87, of Middlebourne, passed away Monday (February 8, 2021) at the home of his daughter Connie of Grove City, under Hospice Care.
Paul was born August 22, 1933 in Middlebourne, son of the late Frank and Doris (Davis) Carter.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters.
Paul was a graduate of Old Washington High School. He served his country in the Army in Germany. He also served two years with the Army Reserves.
He was a life member of the Middlebourne Methodist Church. He was also a member of Pennyroyal Ruritan Club and the Modern Woodmen of America.
Paul retired from the Cambridge State Hospital after thirty-two years as an LPN and later as a supervisor.
He leaves behind his wife, Edith (Whitsell) Carter of sixty-four years; a daughter, Connie Carter of Grove City; a son, Kevin (Alicia) Carter of Grove City; three grandchildren, Olivia, Savannah and Isaac who were his joy; several nieces and nephews; and a lifelong friend; Jack of Alabama.
A private family service will be held at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, with Pastor Karen Rawlins officiating.
Burial will take place at Pisgah Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
